This offer refers to a new type of leisure activities and recreation in the current development of the European tourism – a family village, reminding here a concept of country tourism. It is intended to provide whole families as well as married couples with a possibility to relax “far from the madding crowd,“ however; with the comfort the modern man is accostomed to. There is just such a location at the junction of international North — South road connections on the route Poprad – Javorina – Zakopane under the ridge of the Spišská Magura Mountain Range. OSTURŇA – VEĽKÁ FRANKOVÁ – MALÁ FRANKOVÁ
Together about 60 sq.km of virgin nature in the Dunajec river basin, nowadays accessible by quality roads.
The projects includes the construction of the Osturňa winter centre directly within the area with kilometres-long downhill courses and toboggan runs.
In the Goral Village valley there are attractive forest lakes, namely three Osturňa lakes as well as the lake over Malá Franková. The whole area is surrounded by a massif of lateral ridges of the Spišská Magura Mountain Range as well as tens of valleys, easily accessible to tourists, including families with children.
It is planned to utilize the geothermal well with water of up to 60 degrees Centigrade for the Aquapark as well as for heating objects and greenhouses cultivating vegetables for the needs of the centre.
The investment concept of the whole project of the village is divided into three financing groups. Objects for accommodation, family wooden houses, middle capacity hotels, a small water power plant with a retention tank for firefighting purposes, biofuel fired boiler house and commercial objects of artisans and vendors represent a private investment. Necessary urban facilities, public utilities, communications and technical objects of a water house with a sewage treatment plant are public investments with the option of state subsidies. Investments for the geothermal well and the Aquapark, objects equipment and facilities necessary for the routes of winter and summer tourism with downhill courses and cycle routes will use tenders from European and other funds. Partial private investors will provide the construction of about 100 wooden bungalows for family recreation up to the capacity of ten beds, four three-star hotels up to 50 beds, which will be constructed gradually with the overall development of the Goral Village. Small businesses will be offered to sole traders as independent investment projects, namely wine bars, snack bars, fast food restaurants, souvenir shops, service and rental of sporting goods and clothing. They all are concentrated in a shopping alley, adjoining to the central part.
